Hi! My name is Julia Catharina Schuitemaker, and I am a student photographer specializing in fashion photography. My passion for photography started in my childhood, where I loved capturing nature and taking photos of everything I saw. Over time my focus shifted from nature tot people, especially when my sister, who had started modeling, asked me to take her Instagram photos and videos. Those early experiences taught me how much I enjoyed working with models.
After graduating high school, I felt lost when it came to choosing a career path, I thought I had no real hobbies or ambitions. But then I remembered how much joy photography brought me as a child. That realization led me to enroll at the Fotovakschool in Amsterdam, where I truly rediscovered my passion for photography. During my first internship at MM Models,
I was introduced to the world of fashion photography. I fell in love with it, creating stylized, beautiful images, working closely with models and creative teams. At that time, I thought fashion would be my main focus.
But then came my second internship at XYZ Studio’s in Amsterdam, and everything shifted. There, I explored a wider range of photography and videography, from branding and portrait shoots to lifestyle campaigns and creative video work. I realized that what I truly love isn't limited to one style or genre, it’s the art of image-making itself. Telling stories, capturing moments, playing with light, emotion, and atmosphere, that’s what fuels me.
Today, I work across various fields, both photography, always driven by creativity, curiosity, and the desire to create something meaningful. My approach is natural, intuitive, and tailored to each project. I love collaborating, thinking along with my clients, and shaping visuals that reflect their unique identity or vision.
